About the coin series: Silver Kangaroo
From the Royal Australian Mint (RAM) has been issuing the silver kangaroo since 1993. The coins have a fine weight of 1 oz silver with a purity of 999/1000 and the motif changes annually. The face value is AUD 1, the metal value exceeds the face value many times over, as is usual with bullion coins. The coin is only produced in small quantities, so that the coins are sold well above the pure material value. Since 1998, the coin has also been issued in a proof version. The brilliant uncirculated version is available either in a blister pack or only encapsulated. Since 2007, the RAM has also issued a copper/nickel version. Since 2012 there has also been a version in 1/10 oz fine gold.
